Having established themselves as a powerful force to be reckoned with in the town of Dominion Creek, the Connolly brothers stand united against the dangerous turmoil of the Yukon’s remote Klondike Valley during the 1890s gold rush. Eldest brother Tom (Owen McDonnell) emerges as the leader of the Connolly clan and is determined to build an empire for the family, no matter the cost. While kind-hearted Pádraig (Séan T. Ó’Meallaigh) proposes marriage to his sweetheart and continues his humanitarian work, hot-headed Séamus (Dara Devaney) begins to realize that if they are to succeed, he must trust Tom’s ambition.

The brothers anxiously await Captain Pat’s (IFTA winner Ned DennehyPeaky Blinders) trial for the murder of Skookum Jim, but a shady judge (Timothy V. MurphyAppaloosa, Criminal Minds) and his partner (Duane HowardThe Revenant) might prevent justice from being served. Against the growing lawlessness in Dominion Creek, typhoid ravages the town’s residents, and Pádraig is forced to make a choice between his family’s success and the greater good of the community.

My Thoughts

This is a great series that gives us a look at life on the Yukon during the Gold Rush. The story is told through the eyes of three Irish brothers named Seamus, Padraig, and Tom Connolly. They strike gold on their claim, but money can tear apart even the closest families. They fight among themselves, but quickly learn they will need to stick together to survive.  Series 2 is broken down into four episodes.

1- Tom survives a mine explosion and opens a bathhouse. Captain Pat is standing trial for murder.

2- Tom is being blackmailed. Sparks fly between Seamus and Estella, and Kate is drinking heavily.

3 - Seamus learns he's the father of Estella's baby and wants to see him. Jacob has thyroid fever.

4 - Paidraig has been murdered and Chief Isaac stands accused. Tom and Seamus go after Captain Pat, but problems erupt between the brothers.

This is a excellent series for anyone who is a fan of Westerns! I was really impressed with the costume and backdrops. It had a very realistic feel to it. The cast all did a wonderful job as well. It you want to check out this great historical drama for yourself, be sure to grab a copy on Acorn Media or on Amazon.
